Default In The UW...?

In the UW do you get less loot from bigger pulls?

for instance i pull about 10 smites at the same time and kill them all and only 101gp drops, but if i pulled them individually it seems like they drop more :s

I have seen debates about this. Supposedly, if you kill a large number of monsters at the same time there will be less drops. It applies to everywhere, not just UW. To me, it seems to be true.
I run a nuker ele in raptor farming, and get next to nothing in drops. I run a sliver armor ele for other farms, and there seems to be more drops because I am killing one thing at a time.

That is just my experience.

I do sliver armor farming the raptors and I get absolutely loads of drops, and they do tend to drop all at once with the nuker build don't they, where as they don't with the sliver farm. So may be something in it. Plus I notice on the HM counter it misses a few when they die close together, so maybe that is why?
BTW why do you use a nuker build farming raptors? It is harder to use and you can't kill the boss like the sliver armor can! Sorry to digress

The exact mechanics are not known, but you do get less drops if you kill many enemies at once.

Last time I tried to run a sliver armor build for raptors was right after it had been discovered as a good farming spot; and I failed horribly. The nuker build was easy and very quick.

If your willing to whisp me the sliver build you use I would like to try it out again. I can't imagine that its like the one I use in UW,gate, wall,CTC, etc..
that and I just had to reformat my hard drive I hate when that happens.

<ign if you get the chance

How fast or in what order you kill is irrelevant.

However - which monster will drop which loot does depend. So unless you kill every monster that *can* drop an ecto, then you may get only a part of ectos that would drop.

Since you're killing smites only, it may happen that while a total of 15 ectos were put into the pool, they won't drop from those smites, but would from other mobs.

If you were to kill every single mob, you'd find that the total value of loot is quite constant.

A normal kind of drop for 3 smites...

The drops..

A normal drop for 11 Smites together..

The drops..

I would say this gives a pretty acurate representation as its what normally happens, although ive only shown 2 cases.

I have noticed this as well, in FoW and in Tombs when I solo. I have been yelled at repeatedly in other threads about this subject "Drops are Random" "its All in your head" and other smart ass remarks. But truth be told, your pictures speak the truth, I will try to take a few in FoW tonight and post them. You will see the same results.

I've done 55 SS and 55 SV farming and almost 90% of the time get more drops with SV. Killing them one at a time usually nets more.
